Default 9176 Vettaro

So I live in Dubai were it is really hard to find carburated engines. I have a 1991 Camaro RS with a 305/700R4/10 Bolt. I found a powertrain from a '76 Vette that seems to be a good deal. It has a L82/M21 I also am getting the differential. I want to know more about the differential is it a limited slip differential? Also what kind of gears would it have? I also want to know if it will bolt up in my '91 without any problems. Also how hard would it be getting that Muncie in my Camaro??

Thanks for the Help guys..

The vette rear end will be a major piece of fabrication to make work but the L82 and Muncie should bolt up without too much trouble with the right bell housing and clutch set up.

to quote my grandfather "you're opening a can of worms" it would be interesting to see, but your car isn't even meant to be carbourated. Just leave it like it is and restore it. So far I've only seen one camaro there and it was beaten to pieces (of course it seems like no one can drive in Dubai or any other arab city) Keep it looking nice and you might attract the right kind of attention.

Well, I would leave it but I can't seem to get my 305 to run right. When I start it up I have to constanly keep revving it or it will just cut out. I think it might not be getting enough fuel but I could be wrong. How much wourk would the differential be? I mean could I get it machined at a machine shop?

Here are other issues I am having with my car;

But the main thing is I can't get it running right. I have been trying to upload this great help video I made of my car on Youtube but so far I can't get it to work.

Thanks for all the help guys.

adjust your idle, it may be set too low (they normally run between 900 to 1000 rpms), try cleaning out the IAT as well. brake cleaner should do that just fine, and finally try replacing the fuel filter. Let me know if that works and I'll think on it some more.

I have a couple questions for you.

How do I adjust my idle on a TBI motor?

What the hell is an IAT?

Also I thought the fuel filter as well I have tons of them in my shed but I am just wondering I read somewhere that you have to remove a fuel pump fues from the fuesbox right? Well do you know which fues it is? Also is there anything else I would need to do to change the fuel filter?

Thanks for all the help man.

Hey SSV6,

Thanks for your help. I did a google search about the IAT. I went outside and sprayed some WD-40 on the IAT. And to my surprise it actually runs now. I had it running for about 20 minutes till it died. Usually before I would have to sit in the car and revv it off the red line to keep it running. It won't turn now I am just going to let it sit now and try later. The only thing that concerned me was that it was ideling between 1,900 to 2,100 RPM. Also there must have been a lot of electric current because the end of my battery cable was a bit melted and so was the tip of my battery where it bolts up. It had burnt a bit. You are welcome to come drink my beer for what you have done. We should try to get it running a little better though.

I wouldn't have used WD-40 myself, maybe something a little thinner would have been more appropriate as WD-40 leaves an oily residue. throttle body cleaner would have been better. As for the battery I'm not completely sure, maybe someone else could help a little better with this one. I'd start by getting the alternator checked, it may have a short somewhere and be putting out a little too much.

clean battery and wire conections. bad conection causes heat and will melt wires over time. whens the last time u got it tuned up? plugs and plug wires? to change fuel filter, if u have a electric fuel pump, dont turn the key on. u will get a little gas mess but other than that u can change fuel filter without any special procedures.
