Default 87 z28 oil sending unit

is this a pain to change? oil pressure was good. now its 0. cold goes back to 60 then 0. oil all over the driveway. its not the rear seal, filter, oil pan/bolt. i was told either intake gasket or oil sending unit. i gotta look. just recently replaced intake gaskets. wasn't going to pay $500 for that. between the intake, heater core, front brakes, front strut, thermostat...i'm getting real tired of working on this thing. one more, all the lights flicker. bad alternator or junk belt? heynes manual says you can't put new brushes in alternator. that only works for 86 and earlier. this true?

The oil pressure sending unit on my carbed 84 was by the distributer. It was a little hard to do but I have done many before. On my 91 its by the filter and is easier to do but under the car.
As for the alternator. You can get rebuilt ones so what do they do....leave old brushes in them? The brushes may just be part of the refulator/rectuifier and can not be replaced seperate from that.

thanks mike. sending unit was a breeze. fixed my leak. hard to believe something so little can cause so much stress and black marks on the driveway. thanks again. yes mine was by the distributor.
