86 V6 Won't start
Hey guys,
A buddy of mine has a 1986 2.4L(?) Camaro that he just bought. Got it home and now it won't start. Recharged the battery, replaced the starter, still nothing. When he turns the key one click, the lights come on and such, but when he turns it to the start position there's nothing. He gota new igniton switch, but I know they can be a pain in the butt to switch, so is there anything else you guys reccomend checking out before he digs into that? If not, what does he need to do to change that? Thanks |

Does it even turn over? Are all the cables hooked up correctly? If so are they corroded in anyway? These are a few things to maybe check.

No, won't turn over at all. Not even a hint. The cables are all good, no corrosion, seems perfect. Thats why I'm so lost on it.

He replaced th starter....Double check your battery cables. A bad ground will do just that. It will power up the asscesories but will short out when you apply too much of a draw.
