5 of 8 LT1 injectors not firing..
lol, she's got a sweet set of autolite's in her right now.. so ya, I'll replace those tomorrow and see if it makes any changes. I'm gonna feel really stupid if thats the problem.. I do have an issue with overlooking the small things, hopefully this'll fix it
well I replaced the spark plugs.. it made not a bit of difference. so I decided to do a compression test. started at the front driver side cylinder, 150psi.. next one down was 60psi, next one down was 10psi. found my problem to say the least. squirted some trans fluid in the dead cylinders to see if it would seal the rings and pin point my problem, but it made no difference. so it's pointing to somewhere else than the pistons or rings.. maybe bad head gaskets, or stuck open valves. it did sit for almost a year without being ran.. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
ya, I popped one of the covers off already. the valve train seems to be moving just fine. it all looks within spec. I think I'll go ahead and pressurize my cylinders and see if I can pinpoint the source of the leak. is it overly difficult to pull the heads while the motor is still in the car?? looks pretty tight lol
far as i can tell its not to tough, once the intake is outa the way. at least when i changed the intake maniflod on mine it sure made it look like there was room. exhaust manifold bolts are the biggest pain taking apart and torqueing the heads down on putting back together. yah better make double sure the compression tester was on right, with those numbers anyways.
lol, definately did that. and with the four times I did the comp test's they all landed in the same place. I'm gonna re-test all of the cylinders today tho, see where the entire motor lands. I hope I can just slap a new set of head gaskets on and daily drive it till spring.. but I think I might be fully building it alot sooner than I wanted lol.
I had something very similar happen to me, and after reading your comments, I'm thinking you've got some plugged/dirty injectors.
If the car has been sitting for a long period of time, the injectors may be gummed up.
In my case I had a lean left bank code, a direct result of plugged injectors. I was lucky and had a set of known good injectors so I could do a quick swap out to confirm the problem.

have you changed or checked the fuel filter yet, dump the contents into a clear container and see if there s water in it or its all gunked up. smell the fuel as well. after setting the fuel may be bad. would smell a little like paint thinner. i have pulled the injector rack up and put small pieces of cardboard under the injetors to see if there shootin the fuel. i was doin it cause i was so rich in fuel i was getting gas in the oil and thouhgt one injector might be stuck. it wasnt. yah if your not getting compression then thats got to be it, problem is it may be a cracked head or block or headgasket. no water in oil?
no, there isn't any water in the oil. I pulled the filter and poured it out, it looked okay. not all gunked up and no water that I could see. it smelt a little watered down tho, burns okay tho. I'll probably drain and clean the tank still tho. I'll lift the injector rack up tomorrow and check them before I start tearing into the motor. I checked the rest of the cylinders for compression(counter clockwise starting at front driver: 150psi, 60psi, 10psi, 0psi, 100psi, 0psi, 2psi, and didn't check the last plug.. I think I'm gonna be pulling the motor for a complete rebuild
