3.4l rebuild help
Looks like I'm going to have o rebuild my 95's 3.4l. While I'm at it what would be a good cam, intake and exhaust combo for everyday street driving. My 16 yr.old step daughter is currently the main driver, so don't want to go toooo radical.

Check the sticky on the 3.4 section. As for cam, call one of the cam grinder, tell them what you have and what you want to do, and they will speck out a suitable cam for your needs.
[X(] while im not overly familiar with the 3.4's id stick with stock. reason being 1) smog checks performed in your area??, 2) anytime you change only one component and dont match it to the several other complimentary components it wont give the desired results. this is ESPECIALLY true with computerized fuel injection. unless this is an area your willing to play in and spending money to find out what does and doesnt work(mostly by paying $$$$ when stuff fails) let the people who have spent the money designing stuff to work reliably continue to work for you. dont get me wrong im like most others in that im on the eternal quest for more power and tweekin my toys but its not like the old days of carbs and no catalytic converters and whats a smog check?? the new arena costs $$ to play in and its not as simple as throwin a cam and a carb on your car over the weekend. a very mild cam you may be able to get away with but dont count on the emissions being the same. this also will tend to change vacuum characteristics of the engine and thus the map sensor will have an altered state of consciousness as well creating the great snowball that is poor runnuing, melted down catalytic converters, low power etc. now im not saying this is all a for sure thing it will depend on you and the parts you pick the computer can compensate a LITTLE so be careful kurt
