Default 3.4 to ls1 Swap. Help!! Newb

Hey I just got a 95 camaro wiht a 3.4 v6. it is not a daily driver and never will be. i bought it for my dad and i to work on togehter as a project, plus i want a fast car. we plan on droppin a ls1 in it. We are not penny pinchers, but i do not have unlimited funds either. my questions are: if i wanted to keep an auto, what is a good tranny to match iwth the ls1. Will i need to have the whole dash rewired? Does anyone make the engine mounts for the swap? Will i need a new diff.? i am planning on a torque convereter and shift kit with hte auto, plus i will be runnin the usual bolt ons. exhaust. headers. intake. chip. but i would like some suggestions on some more things i could add without getting into forced induction and nitrous. i looked for awhile and could not find much on this swap even tho i heard it is a common swap. I do no want an LT1. a lot of people have tried to convince me to do the lt1 swap instead, mostly my friends with camaros that dont want mine to be faster . any suggestions, links, or help would be appreciated.

Be careful changing motors, because those cars arnt built to hold bigger motors. Probibly cheaper to buy one with what you want, then having to drop 7 thousand to change everything out.

The best thing to do is to get a LS1 car and sell your V6 machine. If you really want to do this transplant, and I can't think of any reason for doing all that work, is to have a donor car, and move all the parts from one car to another. My suggestion, being that this won't be a street car, is to go whole out, put in ZZ572 big block, back it up with an L480e transmision, Ford 9" rear, and build up the chassis to take the power. If done right you will have a car worth all the work and expense.

If you want a fast car... why would you keep it automatic? and if you want an ls1 why dont you go to the ls1 forum

Automatics are for fast cars! Automatics have quicker, more accurate shifts. With a shift kit and a torque converter it is as good or better than a manual.

Yes, id deffinitly stick with auto for racing, manual for just having fun to drive the car.
