You're much more likely to get a response if you stick around the forum, just throwing that out there.

On another note, there's a sticky in the 4th Gen V6 section that will help guide you through what you need in order to have a successful swap. That will be your best place to start looking for information.

first off, find a donor car. or else you're going to spend a LOT of time trying to scavenge all the parts together, and then might possibly not know where something goes.

Just a thought - why the LT1 vs. the LS1 (which for that year is a more straightforward swap, relatively speaking)? You might have some issues with emissions/legality, depending on where you live by putting an older-than-model-year motor in the car.

And if you do use the LT1, you're probably better off switching to the T56 6-speed, rather than trying to bolt the LT1 to the T5, as I don't think the bellhousing will match up.

It would be cheaper to just buy and LT1 camaro. But, maybe you just want to be different and thats cool.

while your T5 will bolt up (the 3.8 uses the same bell housing bolt pattern as the gen I & II SBC) to an LT1, it WON'T survive. stock 5.0 Mustang's were breaking them with 230bhp. the LT1 makes 275bhp. that's why GM never put one behind a Tune Port 350 in the 3rd gens.
