Iam having my 97 lt1 rebuilt i was thinking going with stock replacement rebuild but everyone is saying make it into a 383 stroker .I want to stroke it but does any one know if this is possible or will the whole computer have to be reprogramed if its going to cost too much and be too much trouble i wont bother.Any advice and tips are greatly apreciated thanks .

 

There are many stroker kits for the LT1, just get one that is balanced. There may be some clearencing work that has to be done to the block. To get the full benefit of the stroker, you will need a hotter cam, larger injectors, and the PCM will need to be tuned.
