Default 1993 S10 5-speed into 1973 Camaro???

will a 5 speed from a 1993 s10 with a 4.3l fit into a 1973 camaro with a 1991 tbi 350? will the bellhousing fit? what would need to be removed from the 4.3l and have to be put onto the 5.7l to get it to fit and work right? would the shifter fit?

The 4.3 is essentially a 350 with two cylinders lopped off. The bellhousing on the 4.3 and the V-8's are identical, so the trans will bolt up. You'll need to get a flywheel for the 350, if you don't already have one. The flywheel from the 4.3 would bolt up to the 350, but it would throw the 350 off balance since the 4.3 is an externally balanced engine using a different harmonic balancer and counter-weighted flywheel. Most of the other external accessories from the 4.3 should bolt right on to the 350. As far as the shifter, you would want touse the one that's alreadywiththe 5 speed. Is your Camaro an automatic or manual now? If an automatic, you'll obviously need to cut a hole in the tunnel to fitthe shifter through.
