no, street tires.. dunlop 245/45/17's on a 94 LT1. i had him by a second and a half at the 330 but only beat him by a tenth so he was comin for me.. lol.. he just ran out of real estate... i think i surprised him .. i got a few looks back in the pits. but it was awesome. right before we went, the announcer said over the speakers, "here is a classic rivalry, a mustang and camaro..." everyone watched lol

245/45/17's? mine has 275/40/17's right out of the box...a 245 is kinda narrow , you need more tire. and congrats on the Mach 1 kill....a guy that lives down the street from me has one (but he can't drive for sheet) , i'm chomping at the bit to get ahold of him.

i know its all about the driver but im a decent driver. im putting down 14.6s in the 1/4 with my 96 lt1 at 97 mph with a .106 rt and that was the best out of 7 passes. i know my car needs a tune up but how could it be a second off that. and i dont have all msd but from my understanding msd doesnt really help hp. and i have full exhaust with gutted cats. no cai but i dont see how that would help pick up a second.

To help ANY Chevy engine, it has to breathe...which means headers. Fastest (and fairly cheap)way to more power.

Then to get the new power to the pavement you need better tires. You'll have to experiment a bit to get the right size. Meaning if you can't fit a wide enough tire for traction, then you'll have to go to ataller tire.

Good luck!

That time is very good for your car. The 60 foot is GREAT for a street tire. What the air like that night/day. It can affect trap speed alot. But as was said a few simple mods to help the engine breath better will net you a few MPH.

For what you have done to the car, those times aren't bad at all. I'd go for at least a 275 tire, as already suggested, Longtube headers and Y pipe(the Y is as, if not more imortant than the headers if you just go with shorties), then you're into some more internal stuff, heads and cam, valvetrain. Some 1.6:1 rockers with stiffer valve springs are easy and help. Some more aggressive gears in the rear end will help time too, but they kill fuel economy.

thanks.. the temp was hotter. id say around 85ish and it was muggy and humid.. i made a trip down on memorial day and it was about 10 degrees hotter and more humid. i made one decent pass at 13.79 and 2 shotty runs at 14.2 because it wouldnt hook up. as for headers, what are the advantages/disadvantages of shorties and LTs? performance wise and price wise? thanks
