Default Opinions?

I have recently been challenged to a race: my 94 Z against a stock 2006 Evo 9..... i know theyre pushing 276? 267? somewhere around in there. they arent exactly what you would call a "light" car, weighing in at around 4000lbs, but they got AWD ... any suggestions on how to beat this car? should i go from a roll or a stop? slow or fast roll? any advice is appreciated

ok so the evo 9s through down 286 HP and 281 TQ, and they dont quite way 4000, more like 3600 to 3700. but whats really gonna get you is the AWD, there 0-60 with a good driver is roughly 4.5 seconds. which means ur screwed if he can launch that bad boy. the evos weakness is in the top end, where the AWD becomes something of a hindrence. If your gonna race him from a dig, chances areur gonna get toasted, but if u can gop from a roll up into some high speeds, u may stand a chance..... what mods do u have

Yeah, Go from a 35 or so roll and You might have a chance. Those 0-60 numbers are real strong though.

yea you guys were right. the race happened the other night. we started on the interstate from a 60 roll... i put it down into 2nd , starting at about 3500 rpms. i didnt roast him; i jumped him off the start by about a car and a half... i might have pulled another half a car by the time he let off. he said something happened to him at 120 and thats where he let off. i didnt feel like i needed to take a chance with the nos.... id rather get caught racing than get caught racing with nitrous... i unhooked it before the race..... if i wouldve lost on the other hand, it wouldve taken 5 min with a wrench and we wouldve been out there again, but it wasnt really neccesary. thanks everyone for the advice.. lol those things are awesome from 0-60...im glad we did a 60 roll
