so my dad and i were talking the other day, he said that some famos NHRA drag racer had died and as a result the NHRA will be shortening an offical run by almost 200 feet. changing the quarter mile times and run forever. anybody else herd about this?

 

i heard about a racer dying.... but i dont see what 200 feet is going to do. for most people you only really gain a couple mph in that range.

 

If you watch the video, he still would have died even if the track was 200 feet shorter. Seems kinda dumb to me.

 

Yeah that story was on MSN and according to that article they are going to make the race to 1000ft!! Drag racers have been racing the 1320 for years and years and now they are going to change it? Granted I'm sorry for the driver who lost his life and I hope it never happends again but racing is a dangerous sport.

They did shorten the track to 1,000 ft. for Nitro class only (320 ft. shorter).
