need some help from a dig
Last night, me and a few friends went up to wendies were this mustang gt guy was talking crap, so his manager lets him off for bout 5 mins to race us. well i have an 99 z28 with a hypertech chip and flowmasters, so i should be able to beat him. well when we go at it, all i do is spin and hes gone till i start running him down in 4th gear but the road ends before i could pass him. can someone help me and give me tips on how to race from a dig so i can beat this guy and shut him up. oh yea i got my car for graduation on may 26th and its the first stick i have ever drivin so im not the best at it yet. thanks
I ahve DRs but i find that a launch from about 2800 usually does me pretty good.
However, he is in a mustang GT. dont worrya bout the launch. challenge him again, and this time dont even launch the car, just take off normal (maybe a bit quicker than normal, but not much) and then hammer on once you get the clutch completely engaged. you should take him out easy.

like he ^ said dont worry about the launch all you have to do is leave like a bit faster than just pulling away from a traffic light then really get on it and youll eat his lunch then tell him just wait till you learn to launch you put his pont in the glue factory
alright, thanks im goin to go work on it a little and get it down so i can beat him and so he'll stop talkin ****, i was wonderin what that hypertech chip did to my car, does anyone know?
since your launch is around 2000 or a lil less you can't dump it... you have to ride it out just a lil bit or else ur rpm's will drop and you'll have NO power!!! but they way i perfected my launch, is just learn your clutch friction point and your cars power and practice!
I just put my DRs on yesterday and i love them... i brought it up to almost 2k and popped the clutch and it bogged down a little.... i brought the rpms up to 3000 and no bog and no wheelspin...they are AWESOME
