So my little brother just bought a 2000 Mitsu Eclipse GT. He thinks hes all badass now that he's got some mods on it and rebuilt the engine. He thinks he can beat my 02 SS. I told him that hes dumb. Heres a list of his mods.

-AEM CAI
-Greddy Evo2 exhaust
-gen2 CFM header
-Stage 2 clutch
-16g Turbocharger
-HKS intercooler
-some other random crap spark plugs (etc)

My SS
-cold air intake
-new head/cam
-flowmaster catback exhaust

 

what head/cam are u running?

i thought the eclipse GT's first came out in the "remix" in 03. before that was still 2nd gen which would be GS, GS-T and GSX

so did he turbo the 4 cyl NA eclipse?


NM, that would be the 3.0 v6. anything can be made fast. if he did it right he may clean ur clock. but that depends. there is a kid running around here in a 1g eclipse that pulled away from me while spraying. ill get him with the bigger shot tho

 

I've got bassani 3/8 inch headers.

And no, its 2000 GT. He turbo'd the v6 thats NA stock, but he did modify the cylinders its 3.5L v6 right now.

 

you said head/cam, thats different then headers. do you still have the stock heads and cam? if he lowered compression and did forged the internals he probably has a fwd rocket ([&:]). he may take you if you are bolton only.

3/8inch headers??!! thats about the size of a weedwacker exhaust... maybee it was a typo

if you have some type of upgraded heads and cam as well as cai and a good exhaust and tune, you will likely win, LS1's respond very well to heads/cam upgrades, especially with a good tune afterwards.

the 2000 mitsu' eclipseare almost as heavy as an f-body, but if he did all those mods "the right way" he would have spent well over 10 grand to get it just right, and would probably win.
