depends if its a street car or a track car.

If its a street car you can start with the basics:
Spare tire
Spare Jack
Replace the drive shaft with an alumium driveshaft
(also send more HP to the wheels)
Rear Seats

If it is a track car you can do alot more. You can do everything above and also tear out all the interrior. the door panels & carpeting. Remove all the seats (except your own) & the Apostry too. Keep in mind the car will look like a tin can inside. But if your only using it at the track it doesnt matter. Basicly everything that doesnt have to do with the steering, engine, transmition, drivetrain or the seat thats holding on to your *** can come out.

You could also look at getting some alumium wheels which are lighter & easier for the car to spin.

Under the hood you could replace the heads with some alumium heads which will take off alot of weight, but I dont know alot about this in 3rd gens.

I had a 87 Firebird I just sold...here's what I did for weight reduction...

AC
Heater Box
All Air/heat tubing
Carpet
Firewall foam
carpet foam
speaker foam
basically all foam from car
All interior panels
rear seats
Windsheild wipers
wiper motor
wiper fluid resivor
emissions
cat
exhaust sheilds
headliner
dome light
sunvisor
all "unecessary" engine componets (certain brackets, power steering pump)
Side moldings
Spoiler
Center console
HVAC controls
Bumper inners
3rd brake light
nose support plate
nose X-beam supports
nose vertical radiator support
all exhaust
stock intake

There was a noticeable difference when pushing the car, and it loaded alot of weight of parts into the trash...

anything is possible, it's all up to what you want but what i did was an EXTERME weight reduction
