Default Making plastic lighter in colour.

I recently found a set of my much wanted rear hatch panels. They are out of a 94 and my car is a 99 so the difference in colour is slight. I asked 5 people and a few said they saw a slight difference. I myself like everything to match perfectly. Is there a way to "fade" these out a tad bit? I also thought about buying that "plastic dye", but I have heard nothing good about it. Do they even make the right shade for our cars? (Mine is a 99 with the light gray interior.)

You can only hope for the best when matching dyes. Unless you can get a specific color number. Only way to really fade it out is drying it out and direct sunlight.

you could spread some bleach on it for a few seconds, then wash with soap..... and repeat as many times until you get the right color. Just make sure you dont leave it on for too long. I would only do this for a little, just to get it a little closer, then use sunlight the rest of the way.

not sure how old this is but dont use bleach youll make the panels fragile and theyll crack heh i use to work with pools and chlorine screws up everything if they dont crack they wont last long especially after you try to put them in the heat a car gets to
