So, I ran a 15.087, 15.059, and a 15.072. lol, so close, yet so far away. All I changed was plugs, went back to premium gas, and got a new oem trans mount. But I have a suspicion as to why my times aren't what they should be, and that is the engine. I'm burning oil . I think this is all she's got unfortunately. During the winter or next summer, I'll pull the motor and freshen it up with forged rods and pistons, a mild cam, and some work on the heads.

A premium is not helping you ... the 3.8 is not high enough compression for it ...infact its probly screwing with your air fuel slowing you down. in addtion a retune on your PCM should put you deep in the 14s. but with the 4:10s i still can think your launching her right man i mean there are guys pulling 15.5s on stock y87s with the posi rear and full bolts you should be hitting your times much less with the 4:10s

 

No, it needs the premium, if I don't use it, I can't get past 15.4. Click my cardomain link, I think you'll be impressed with my mods. The pcm is a re-mapped mail order 97 pcm. On full throttle v6, we've been working very hard to get it to run right.

Well, I'm either going to pull the engine, or get a junk yard 3800 and build it up a little bit. I'd like to run a 125-150 wet shot of nitrous safely, so I'll use l32 forged connecting rods, forged pistons, a cam of some sort, and a multi-angle valve job. Then rods, roller rockers, and springs of course. It should run 14's with my current setup, but the engine is tired. With the future engine, I'd like to see 13's easy. Maybe 4.56 gears too, I'd like to sink into 4th a little further.
