c4maro what is the fastest car you have driven,cause no afense or any thing but i have beat my shair of 305 camaro and my car is no werenearfast. (sorry not feeling like spellling good to day)

 

I dont drive that often. ( im 15 )=no liscence. But the fasted car ive driven is a ford bronco II on a drag track, it had a 351m And it was BUILT for the strip. I hit about 160MPH

 

And i agree my maro's 305 isent the best engine, But i predict it will throw me back in a the seat a bit once i have full exausht and 3.73 posi track.

 

think again. you're still talking about a high 15- low 16 second car in the 1/4 (newer Honda Civic territory). throw out the 305 and stuff in a 350, you'll be glad you did. or if you want to stay in the 5.0 limit, take a 327 block and add a 283 crankshaft and recreate the DZ302

 

Dude im keeping the 305, im getting brand new comp cams for 100$canadian, And im getting some good cylinder heads for like 200 bucks, That with my performance carb and intake, and headers will be like 310 horses. Thats a nice street machine. Then ill get 373 posi track and it will be very quick.

 

trust me, you wont be even close to 310 hp, to the ground or flywheel.You said 250rwhp is like 310 to the flywheel, well thats a big loss through the drive train, and who cares how much you put to the flywheel you could put down 10,000hp to the flywheel but that doesnt mean squat if you cant put it to the ground.

*edit* and i dont believe you went 160mph in the 1/4, thats like a 7 sec pass or somewhere close to that

i know you would have to be here a long time to remember SickSickSick, but his iroc was 325hp and he had a 305 but he did a lot of work to it, and that page is not just any heads and a cam, so dont expect your results to be the same.

 

I think my friend up there might be a little off. 87 was a TBI year if i am not mistaken. So was your car converted over from TBI to carb? I think the stock 305 TBI was rated at 180-200 horses depending on the year stock. That would be at the crank and with your mods you havnt added much. I would say maybe 160-170 at the wheels with your mods "MAYBE". You asked a question about the 3.8 before. It also depends on the year but most where rated at 200 horses and 225 torque.
