Or you could just let it go at you made a mistake. We all do from time to time. First off if the GTI in question has any mods even a chip or exhaust it is not stock. Second a 9.4 is a horible time in a SC cobalt. Some one didnt know how to drive in short. Also using conversion scales from 1/4 to 1/8 times are very inacurate for real times.

His GTI is stock it voids the warrenty to change it unlike the SS SC Cobalt. You obviously did not read the data supplied by the drag times listings or the Cobalt forum(where the OWNERS of the cars state the fastest time they have seen for a stock SS SC is 9.2 and they show modded SS SCs running 9.4). I could go on and restate the info again and again butI am sureit wouldnt do any good, you obviously do not have real information for the 1/8 mile performance of these carsand just want to argue with nothing to back up you feelings.

I really wanna take my SS to the local 1/8th mile track, hopefully I can this summer, I took my truck a few years ago and ran a best of 9.18 @ 83. I always wondered if the SS was as quick, guess it's not quite.[/align]

LOL yeah your right i only have a dozen passes in a stock and a lightly moded SS. All and i have driven a 07 GTI as well. Some forums claim the cobalt runs 14.9s yet some drivers pull low 14s consitantly. It is a very hard car to launch vs the GTI thats why you see up to a full second diffrence in cobalt times by just switching drivers.

As i said conversion charts are not accurate at all but here is a round about taken off of a forum.
Times from cobaltss.net conversion chart is from geocities.com
1.)madeinUSA,14.06@99.34 w/2.18 60' 9.0
2.)Tofu,14.12@97.29 w/2.00 60' 9.05
3.)STG2BALT,14.16@99.94 w/2.21 60' 9.07
4.)R&C_rallySS,14.24@100.06 w/2.23 60' 9.12
5.)Julex,14.29@99.60 w/2.19 60' 9.17
6.)X3r0,14.34@97.81 w/2.23 60' 9.19

As i said there are freaks that have run 13.9s out there a pass better then 14.03 would put the car into the 13s according to the charts. However the chart does not do the cobalt very well since it is based on a average. If the cobalt finds bit at a good RPM it launches hard that is how it pulls good 60 times making it even stronger in the 1/8

The numbers above are from STOCK stage 0 cobalts. Stage 2 adds about 40 horses if i am not mistaken.

Just a quick side note i have ran a 14.29 at 99 MPH with a 2.1 in a bone stock SS/SC and i fill like the car had a little more to give. I am sure with a better driver and a little more traction the car could have cut it even lower. This is almost .3 seconds faster then some of the fastest GTI times i have seen. Once again this was not my car and i had very little seat time. And if you want to give good info maybe you should not post one of the slowest times you search for. After all there are some nice high 15 second post on some VW forums but as i said they are a high 14 low 15. Times very a lot by altitude, track conditions, and temps. Times very even more when you are dealing with forced induction cars where temps play even a bigger roll in performace. So maybe i knew a little more then you figured.

same car but newer with a chip .2 seconds faster than my brothers with just a chip
the VW pcm controls boost ammount as well as fuel and timing curves. So your "just a chip" is the equivelent of a pulley swap and full tune for a SS/SC. loads of power for cheap as dirt. not a valid comparisson
