Going to the track
 

I'm taking the camaro to the track tomorrow night. What do I need for a catch can? Does a drip pan work?

if ur talking drag racing, most stock or lightly modified cars get in no problem. they only look for safety equipment w/ higher modded cars. I dont actually know that a catch can is ever required, as it only is meant to remove oil from the intake charge

you dont need one cause you breater for oil is piped into the air intake and the radiator has a coolant bottle. in older cars the breaters are open they need to pipe into a can (literally a can or bottle etc) so it doesn't go on the track if the car pushes oil out. similarly for the radiator, in a closed system they might explode or pop the cap off it the car overheats and spil on track so they need to be piped through into an over flow bottle like in your camaro under the battery!

He is right on. With latter mods you may need to add a catch can but right now there is no need.

I had a fun night at the track. It was in the upper 90's and there were some some slow times. Most of the ls1's and new body mustangs were running low 14's. I ran 14.2-14.5 at 97-99. I need better tires next time. I was running 225/60-16 all seasons that melted all the way through second gear. All of my 60' times were 2.3-2.7....ouch
