ok the track is opening soon down here in at atlanta motor speedway. this will be my first time going. is there anything i should know. i mean what is it like on your first time. i called them an they stated pit my car against cars thats in my class. also is launching at the strip any different from launching at the track. i drive an 1993 z28 camaro auto tranny. also here there any good tires beside drag or slicks i could by that wouuld grip really good.

 

Lower your rear tire pressures a little bit but not too much. 20-25 usually works, but it depends on your tire size and how stiff the sidewalls are. If you're on street tires, don't do a burnout in the box. You'll just look like an idiot and go slower. Just a little spin up to the line to clean your tires off. Past that, you'll figure out pretty quick how much to goose it off the line while still grabbing the track.

On a side note, you RWDers have it easy. I just realized that there's so much more I have to do to launch than you...
