Default First time at the 1/8 and first post.

Well, I went to down to the drag strip nearest me (in Newbern, NC) and ran my car. I had to have a helmet, which was a bother, but not too bad.
It is A LOT different from the street. A LOT. The pavement is actually sticky.
1st Run:
Reaction: .825 (on a .000)
60': 2.3 (on 11" DRs, WTF?!?)
1/8: 9.2 @ 78mph.

I bogged on launch (about a 2.7K dump) and didn't powershift. And I shortshifted into 4th before I finished. It was a fun experience, though.

2nd Run:
Dialed the car up to about 4k, dumped it, and broke it. Probably snapped my ring and pinion--again. Damn GM 7.5" 10 bolts. Damn Nittos.

Oh well, if I have the money, I'll get a Moser 9" to go in, or if not, I'll replace the ring and pinion and put street tires on.

Hmmm, well let's see, he said damn 7.5 and broke and 10 bolt, so I'm guessing a 80's to 90's Camaro. Anyone that has had one with any power has broken one. I broke 3 including an Auburn unit. GM Poopie! Get a 12bolt or a 9 inch.
