Closest to HP numbers gets a prize!
The coolest car I've left behind me was a C5 vette. It wasn't a Z06, and it was only a car back, but I was proud anyway...
In current events, it's now running faster than it ever has, with the limiting factor being that the 440cc injectors I temporarily put in it just don't flow enough to make any more power. There's a huge difference between high z and low z injectors in the electronics that drive them, and I still have tons of soldering to do before I can make the big injectors work right.

Well, I borrowed some slightly larger injectors from a friend. Somewhere around 570cc. With the e85, it's giving me a 90% duty cycle at 7100RPM at 18psi of boost and 75psi of fuel pressure. My gearing is very long, with 1st bringing me close to 40mph, 2nd to 66, 3rd to 107. The car liquifies the tires in 2nd, and gives squeaks from the tires as it hunts for traction in3rd.I'm probably making in the vacinity of 330 ft/lb and 300 hp at this point. I'll make another 7psi or so of boost once I solve the riddle of making the standalone successfully read RPM with big injectors.
Probably the most fun part of driving the car now, besides the obvious having gobs of power in a beer canned compact, is that I've got the scramble boost function of the boost controller run through a switch in the dash. I run 10psi in 1st and 2nd gear, and once I get shifted into 3rd, I punch the button and it shoots up to high boost. It's almost like a nitrous button, it's so vicious once it hits the higher boost numbers.
Anyone in the NW suburbs of Chicago want a ride?

no one has any numbers in the 350 range so... i'll go ahead and do 359whp on this one
This is pretty kool. Gotta give respect for anybody doing an engine rebuild and car gut in there garage. and all tuning. More power to ya

Status update:
The standalone is in about 6 pieces on my desk at home. It's better than the 100 or so pieces it was in a few days ago, but it's still not tested or in the car yet, and my soldering experience is minimal, so I don't want to just toss it in the car and hope for the best.
The next step after I get it in is to attempt to tune it, although with only a walbro 255lph fuel pump, I'll be chasing my tail a bit with these garden hoses I'm putting in place of fuel injectors.
If all goes well, and the pump can keep up enough to flow at high boost, I'll tune it up and make a dyno appointment. We're getting close folks. Just nowhere near as quickly as I originally intended.
