Camaroforums Winter Grudge Match Extravaganza!

OK, I got you now. Please understand it has been 7 years since I had my Z28. I would just love to see how my car would stack up against an LT1. Everyone on MF feels that a S197 Mustang is a drivers race with an LS1. I honestly don't know because I can never seem to find one.
I would agree though that an LS1 makes much better power earlier in the torque curve than a 3v Stang.

I used to have a friend that loved to talk all kind of smack. After a two good interstate pulls the LS1 had a very good lead. (he had some very good excuses) A short time latter at the track there was a .3-.5 second difference in the track times with the LS1 having the advantage on every run. After the third pass he was angry and called it a day.

I have a lot of seat time in his GT and its not a bad car. He did add a clutch latter down the line after he blew his first transmission. Over all the car was fun to drive and i would go as far as saying it was a blast. But for power the LS1 does pull harder all the way throw the power band but if i had to say i noticed a big difference it would be in the middle around 3500-5000 wear the biggest difference is.
