I saw this over at MF.com and was wondering what a LS1/LT1 runs with simalar bolt ons.

Sorry about my ignorance about this - I am sure it has been discussed a 1000 times.

 

keep in mind that that's not an average run. i know the lt1 bolt on record is 11.56 set rather recently. before it was owned by shon herron with an 11.7xx. i'd say an average lt1 with full bolt ons will run somewhere in the mid 12's and an ls1 i'd guess would be low 12's

 

Oh yeah - I know that is far from average but damn good driving though. A lot of guys with FI S197's arent dropping those kind of times.

 

i think an ls1 with bolt ons can go 11.90s

 

yeah i'm not to up to date with ls1's so that was just a guess. average driver would probably be low 12's, right?

 

all numbers quoted are low as far as im concerned, unless you are talking about suspenion/tire packages capable of a 1.7 60' like in the slip posted. JD1969 is a stalled, cammed, and bolton car and he has run a best of 11.5 now i think, with 11.8 his old. he knows a thing or three about strip racing as well.

 

yea im not to sure about ls1's but the lt1 bolt on record is really new and its lik 11.5

no weight reduction? the cam only record for ls1's is in the 10s but those guys gut the cars.

 

will get back to you on that spec...i'm not sure to be honest. i'd assume weight reduction yes. let me do some more research there
