So you found a series 3 carrier right? You've got to have one to get 4.10s I think?
I think I heard my stock rear end is a series 2, so if I pulled a rear out of a z28 with posi and 3.42s is that a series 3?

The secret to graduation money is invitations. Send an invitation to every forgotten relative your parents can think of, then they'll send you money. In my case, none are forgotten, but I did have to have 2 parties, one for church, one for family. 70 at one party, 30 at the other.

It's kinda weird how the gearing works. Summit sells gears for carriers 3.73 an numercially lower, and vice versa. The trans am rear I got had 3.73's, so I got gears for 3.73 and up. Someone told me you can get gears in the 5's.

You did your install yourself if I remember right from the other forums.
How did that go for you? I'd like to do it with my dad to learn, could it be done in a weekend?

Man, we're really post-whoring tonight, lol.

lol, yeah, I can't sleep. I had some ice cream cake that had coffee in it.

I installed them myself, but I had to buy a lot of tools to do it. I probably should've had it done at a shop, I'm not too confident in my install, but this rear end only has to live until september.

If you're talking about swapping out a rear, then look here. http://www2.turbov6camaro.com:443/rear.htm

If you're talking about just swapping the gears and differential then make sure you know or have someone who knows what they are doing.

Yeah, make sure you do your research if you do it yourself. I'm second guessing my work, so I'm going to have my shop teacher have a look.

What I think I will do, just to be safe, is find a z28 rear end with posi, put that in myself so I can learn a little, then take it to a shop and swap the gears.
Sounds good?

Sounds like a plan. Don't forget that when you change your gears you will more than likely need to change the MPH at which the auto tranny shifts. If you can't get a tune, then since you live somewhat near by I could adjust it with the HPTuners on my laptop.
