Default 1st time at the track

i just got back from the dragstrip for the 1st time tonight. i just got my license on monday and wanted to see what my car would run. i have a completely stock 2000 3.8 liter automatic with 3.42 gears and 122,XXX miles on it. the cars has never had the plugs or wires and a couple of other things changed so i knew it wouldnt run to its full potential til it gets a tune up.

my best run of the night was
reaction-.1325
60 ft- 2.3227
330 ft-6.5634
1/8 ET-10.1267
1/8 MPH- 69.51
1000 FT ET- not given
1000 ft MPH- not given
1/4 ET- 15.8263
1/4 MPH- 85.62

Do yall think that this is good for a first timer and what do you think it would run once i got a tune up?

that is very good.Depending on how long it has been since you had a tune up,it could help you.

it has never had a complete tune up. the only thing that has ever been done to it is a new air filter and changing the oil every 3000 miles. it needs a tune up pretty bad.

alright i will. i am planning on doing the tune up this week and going back to the track in the next month or so. i just got an SLP cold air intake today and i cant decide if i want to install it when i do the tune up or if i want to see what it runs without it and then install it. any suggestions?

do the tune up first like u said. then if theres issues u will know it has nothing to do with the intake. u getting new wires too. good idea if the old one are lookin dry and crusty.

The car is running strong for how many miles are on it. Change the plugs & wires and run a can of sea foam through the gas. You should also practice your launch. 2.32 60' could use some practice. I cut a 2.23 in my V6 and that was with 3.23 gears and no LSD. You have an LSD and a steeper gear, I know it was your first time, but with some practice you can shave off a few tenths.

I would also recomend a Cat back Exhaust. Magnaflow & Flow master make decent ones for your car that sound good and add about 11 rwhp.

I ran a 15.3 on the same setup you have stock. I think you can pull 15.5 out of it. Just work on your launch
