Default Stall Speed

I have a stall speed in my tansmission, and everyday whenI pull out of my high school parking lot I start to pull away and the stall speed kicks in andI have to rev up the car for it to release. WhenI do my car jumps into gear and takes off. I have been getting Saturday Schools every week for it. They seem to think Im trying to do a burnout in the parking lot...It's getting old....Can I pull that out of my Trans?

I'd say it sounds like you have more of a low trans fluid situation.

I don't think the stall speed of you torque converter (if I understand what you are saying) has anything to do with your problem. The torque converter or your transmission may be screwed up. Would be nice to know what year & model car you are talking about, as they stopped making them all the same backin 1895

I have a 1981 Camaro....with a 305, I checked the fluid...I was full...my dad thought it was that too... If what you said about my torque converter or trans. is messed up, can I get them fixed or is it cheaper to by new ones...?

yeah cuz usually people get higher stall torque converters, to get a perfect launch on the strip, enough throttle so the wheels willstill have traction, but will jerk you foreward (not to do a burnout cuz on the strip that costs time).
