Exclamation Replacing blown head gaskets

i started replacing my head gaskets today and i got the driver side head off no problem. im having some trouble on my pass side head. i got 5 bolts out but the bolt in the rear by the firewall has a metal bracket blocking it so i cant get my socket onto the bolt to get it off. how do i go about removing that last bolt?
thanks

I am assuming you are talking about the lift bracket that covers the back bolt on the valve cover. More than likely, you will have to get to the bolt holding that bracket from the bottom of the car with a LONG extension and socket. The bolt also hold the Tranny dipstick (if it is an automatic). You may be lucky and able to break the nut loose from the top for that bracket but it has to come off first. Some people have bent the bracket to get to that bolt. Good luck.

If I remember correctly, you can take the plenum off first and that will give you a little more room to get your arm back in behind the motor to get a wrench on that nut holding the bracket on the back of the motor.
