NEED HELP!!
I got a 81 Camaro with a 305 in it...Everytime i put my hood up there is oil dripping off of it on the passing side, its on my headers, and my inner wheel well, On the passing side of the block it has a spraying patteren of oil near the fuel pump....where is this coming from?....Its this a emergency problem needing to be fixed right away?
Yes.
Clean the area off, run the engine(full of oil of course) at low idle and higher RPM's and try to locate where the leak is from.
The fuel pump can leak oil, there is a diaphram/seal inside it that keeps oil from leaking. Didn't circumvent the fuel pump with a aftermarket electric did you? Sure way to make on leak is to not have the fuel pressure going threw the pump.

I will clean it off....should i bother with getting anew fuel pump seal?....As far as circumvent the fuel pump with a aftermarket electric one......I don't know how to tell....what's the difference.....this pump was ran on this car before the leak....What Im saying is the Pump came with the engine....
Clean it off and see if it is indeed the culprit. In the case of a new pump seal, no, your not going to want to bother to just get a seal because the seal I am refering to that can leak is internal. In the pump. The gasket seperates the pump from the engine block, that could also be a culprit. Find out what is leaking first. Then go from there, if it is indeed the pump itself leaking or the gasket seperating it from the block just buy a new pump, they are cheap.
