Motor Swap, and yeah I read the stickies....
So I've decided to swap a carbed 350 in my 1992 Camaro RS, it had a 305 TBI which I mildly modded, but it's not enough. I was wondering something, I have an opportunity to buy a crank, camshaft, heads, pistons, ummm basically everything except the block for a 350 boat motor, and so far the only difference I've noticed is that it's going to need a new cam, and that the crank is bigger than the one for it's automotive counterpart. Now I have a 350 block, with a 4" bore, and was wondering if this setup would work in my application. I have a 5 spd. as well. SOmeone help me out here cause the parts are for a really good price, but I want to make sure it'll work first.

i don't see why it wouldn't work, but i also don't have to much experience towards that type of stuff, you might want to check the motor that was in the boat and see if he got the valley that the crank sits in inside the block shaved, if so, that might explain the reason as to the crank being bigger, but other than that its just a stock 350 with bolt ons, in my opinion it should work no problem.

Things to look for many boat motord rotate the opposite direction than car motors. Also boat motors are designe to run at narrow RPM band and make bad car engines unless the cam is changed.
