Default More LS questions

So I have a 6.0 iron block from a 2002 Chevy truck I figure going into my 69 Camaro build. I have a Turbonetics Turbo fabed up going in. I have a 4l60 4 speed auto tranny with a mosier 12 bolt and Eaton Posi, all disc brakes, all 4 link suspension front tubular a arms adjustable coil over front springs etc is all in and built.

I am now relying to get all my Engine Parts so i can get it together.

With the turbo, what other parts do I need to ensure high performance, reliability, but most importantly give me a set up that is balanced in all areas that meets my goals?

I like the lopey sound, might get the Brute SpeedHot Cam.

I need help!! Please? Cost savings always helps so any and all suggestions I welcome.

Thanks! (And I'm trying to post some pics of my project but having trouble)

Joe

what heads? What manifolds? What intake? What size injectors? What size turbo? Why a 4L60e instead of an 80?

lets start there

I do not know exactly what heads. That's why I'm asking. I was hoping someone could help me out. I had someone building my car for me and he bailed out on me so here I am. It's in a shop but I'm not exactly sure these guys are engine specialists? What I have been told is to purchase 60 ib injectors, I guess I can go with the Fast intake or a used LS6 intake? I was told i needto buy duel valve springs. I wondered thesamething about the tranny? I thought it was a 80 but just checked the other day and it was a 60. I'll check on what size the turbo is. I'm at the Firehouse and all my receipts are at home. Obviously I'm new to vintage car building or any car building but its been a dream of mine so I'm learning.

I can sell the tranny and buy another if it's going to be a problem. I'm unfamiliar with the engine? I do not know exactly what parts come on the 2000-2002 6.0 liter Chevy truck motors? If you are familiar with these motors maybe you know? Running forced induction in a 69 Camaro and considering the apparently little information I'm giving, is there anything you can tell me?

Thank you for your response,

Joe

Ok, we at least have some groundwork laid then.

If you have a complete 6.0 motor out of a truck (I'm assuming it wasn't an ss silverado) you have 317 heads, these are a very basic, decent flowing head and will do just fine, we have a guy local that has a 317 headed 6.0 motor that has gone 9.90s on pump gas and a 75mm turbo in an el camino.

60s will be ok, 80s would be better, always better to have more then not enough. LS6 intake would be good, fast would be better, single plane with an elbow would be even better yet!

Dual valve springs are always cheap insurance, look into an ls9 cam, guys are making great power with those and I'm pretty sure they can be had for arond 125 bucks from the dealer? In line with the ls9 stuff, look for a set of ls9 head gaskets as bang for the buck, they're the best set for a boosted setup you can buy right now.

I'd look into a set of rod bolts and head studs from ARP, they're cheap (relatively speaking) insurance.

You are going to melt that 4L60 down to nothing, look for a 4L80, these are essentially a th400 with overdrive, you'll be much happier with one of those, TRUST me.

Find out what size the turbo is and we can go from there

Ok thank you! Ill check today on the turbo size and start looking at
The parts you suggested and prices and get rolling. I knew there was good reason in joining the Camaro Forums, so far extremely helpful.
I still need to figure out how to post the few pictures I have of the car.

Thanks again ill be talking with u soon!
