Yeah, ls1tech is full of snobs who think the ls1 is god's end all be all engine. It's a great platform, of course, but they can't believe anything could be made to run faster than one.

I spent a good 2 and a half hours on ltxtech last night, just reading up on random stuff. A lot of good info, and more importantly a lot of good guys willing to help out.

There was a thread with two seperate guys talking about their 9-second camaros! That one kinda messed with me. haha

I'm definitely gonna sign up today, and start asking questions.

Just signed up!

Gonna do an intro and what-not.

Quick question about pistons. Do hyp. pistons dislike higher compression? I know they hate boost/nitrous, but I can't find any that'll keep compression between 10:1 and 11:1.

i thought you were going for a cheap build, they are more expensive than forged.Well they are designed to hold heat better and not expand as much, but im not sure really about the compression.

It was more of just a question. I've basically decided on Diamond forged pistons. $600 from thunder racing.

very nice, yeah i really dont see hyperhoweveryouspellit pistons used to much, forged are more common,i know in higher end cars they use them, but i see forged more in built engines and in the racing industry

Honestly, the only place I even hear about the hypers is on mustangforums. They're all concerned about them since they have to get blown to hang with us! :P haha

I'm thinking that with a refreshed bottom end, the upgraded top end (just in terms of better parts in general), and my relatively low goals, I'll probably have a real strong, really really reliable engine for another 151000 miles.

Here's to hoping! haha

Alas, it's midnight. Time for bed on my end!
