I have a 1987 Camaro with the 4 bbl 305 motor with a 5 speed standard transmission. I'm putting together a 350 engine that I plan on putting in the car soon. Is there any 6 speed standard transmission that will bolt up to an older Chevy 350 that will work in a Camaro?

 

im not to sure but an lt1 block is lik a sbc id do a little research if i was you but an lt1 t56 may work. check with companys that make/build them and all. the t56 would be ur best bet though

 

What he said... You can take the old LT1 bellhousing and use it to mate up to the old GenI sbc. I have one sitting in my storage that a friend gave to me that I was going to use for a swap.

In fact I think you can take the bellhousing from the old T5 and move it to the T56 but I'm not 100% sure on that so don't quote me. There's a post that I have on here somewhere with some links in it that Specter was nice enough to give me from a few months back. Do a search on my name and "swap" and you will probably find it pretty easily.

I have a t56 in my 3rd gen and it does great. You should have no problem with this swap.
