Default EMERGENCY OIL FILTER PROBLEM

So I need to change my oil soon and i recently went to a store and bought a FRAM PH30 filter. The book in the store said it was the one to use on a 350 V8 and since that is what I have in my 2001 SS i figured it was the right one. Anyway i later went online to make sure and the FRAM website said that for a 01 SS that it was some other number that was not PH30 but PH3506 I was wondering if i got the wrong filter or that mabye it was just listed wrong

the one you bought will work, but the other one is probably bigger.

Your engine is not a regular 350, you have a LS type engine which is totally different from the old 350 small block. The filter will probably work OK as far as filtering, but the bypass valving may be different and not suited to your engine. I would spend another 5-10 dollars and put the right filter in.
