I picked up this motor - it has very little run time (maybe a 100 miles)...

350, bored 30 over, new pistons --

Take a look at the image at the link below. I don't know much about what is reasonable with engine rebuilds, etc. So --

I am asking about those straight line scoring marks produced by the piston skirts. They are on every cylinder - about the same -- They are very minimal (you can't 'feel' them).. I can turn the crank, no problem.

However, is that normal? Is that going to cause a problem a bit later? Could this cause the engine to run hot? Nothing to be concerned about?

I plan on installing this motor ASAP and running it, UNLESS I get feedback that this is a NO GO with those pistons and their 'fit' in the cylinder.

Since you bought it, hopefully, the camshaft was broken in good
Use a good 10W30 oil as the piston may not have been very clean when installed
Or there was no oil on the piston/rings at install.
Generally, the piston is submerged in oil before installing for assembly lube and cylinder is rubbed with oil.

Was the engine broken in?
Was the break-in oil changed?
Why the sale after 100 miles?

That's rough. If you install it I wish you the best of luck but that's bad. Like you need to rebuild it bad.
