Default carb and intake

after my thanksgiving paycheck i'm planning to get a holley 600 brand new with electric choke 229.99...and my dads friend has a high performance aluminum intake i'm getting for 50 bucks...

so i was just wondering an approx. horsepower gain i will get...

this is going on a 305 engine and right now it just has a original intake for a 2 bbl carb...

THANKS!!

oh yea going from a 2 barrel to a 600cfm on a 305. 600cfm on a 305 is a lot of breathing room, plus, gettin a manifold too. you could be looking at 20 to maybe even a 40 horsepower gain. you will notice it.

i forgot to mention torque, you could be looking at a 30 to 80ft lb torque increase.

TimmyTheWor89, Please Edit your post instead of double posting. Just remember that for future reference.

The intake and the carb will help performance wize. you will deff notice a difference. its hard to get an exact HP and TQ gain without exact spects on the intake.

I think Timmy's estamates are bit on the high side. I am going to guess maybe 10 hp and 10-15 tq. The 305's just don't respond all that to mods, the heads are so restrictive. I think you will notice the gain but it's not going to into a tire shredding monster with just a carb and intake.
