Default Can a 408 stroker in a 2001 Z be street legal?

If I dropped in a 408 Stroker engine, Im in California by the way, do I have to submitt the changes in the engine to the DMV? Would it be street legll or would I have to check with the dmv?

I don't live in Cali, so I'm not sure about the DMV piece, but providing every part on the motor has a CARB EO # theoretically it should be legal.

Mine is. But I live in NC: emissions testing merely consists of OBD-II scans. A 408 could be disguised so that it would be impossible to tell it was not stock by visual inspection, and with a reasonable cam and tune, it would pass both a visual and computerized and tailpipe sensor inspection. You are allo0wed to put shorty headers on a car in CA, which I would definately do with the 408.
