Cam Idle Advanced Induction
Ok I just got Advanced Induction Trick Flow 215cc LT1 competittion heads with a AI hydraulic roller kit with a custom cam. specs are .568 intake .569 exhaust also ordered a eagle rotating assembley already have ATI Procharger (8lbs boost) just got smaller pully so should have around (15lbs boost). I have SLP Headers 1 3/4 with y-pipe electric dump going back to a full Catt Back Borla Exhaust system. With a stock 10bolt im pretty sure thats what they come with. By the way i have a 1995 Z-28. All parts are being put on with 50k procharger was on for 10k before that but i blew all the piston rings and my harmonic balancer was not correctly put in. So i had to rehone the block, it was a mess. But anyways i have my idle set at 1000rpm. Im trying to have a chopy idle what should i set my idle at to achevie this. I was thinkin 750 or 800 and thats what a couple people have told me to do. But i want to get someone's opinion on here that has a 226 234 Advanced Induction cam as mine is very similiar to it but not the same. are someone who has a cam around my size. To see what they have theres set at. You guys have been very helpfull in the past and I will put new pics in my gallery when its complete of dyno sheet, track times, engine rebuild etc. Thanks guys hope to hear from ya soon.

yeah if you want a more choppy idle 700-800 will be ideal.I would definately upgrade the rear end to a 12 bolt moser or a s60, that stock 10 bolt is weak from the beginning and especially with your upgrades, it wont hold up too long.

So what you thinkin would be best 700 or 750. Also I,m tryin to find a ford 9in just the fact it will never break or at least what with what i have. I've been told that i would break a 12 bolt, tryin to find either or for a good price i just spent about $7000 on engine rebuild and the engine shop putting it together for me. So im running low on funds at this time hopefully it will hold up on me for the time being im just not going to drop the clutch and smash into gears all the time.

Yeah, if it's a 7.5 10 bolt then get rid of it. A 12 bolt is good but a 9 inch is bulletproof. I have a friend that uses the Chevy Dana's and say they are just as bulletproof as a Ford 9" and are easier to work on. I've never used one though.
