Default Boring over.030

Hi folks Ed here
I new at this and have a great many questions. I have put on several add ons to my 350 79 z28 moderate cam, high rise 650 holley msd box, headers, aluminum heads 2.02 high stall converter 2400rpm . I's a respectable car but i wonder if i have boxed myself in . Some folks have suggested nitrous, other boring over .030. What is to be gained boring over, horsepower wise and torqe. Won't adding nitrous be quite hard on existing components ? This car had been babied and has around 85,000miles on her. Compression is good no excessive oil burning. I sense that there are several questins to be asked here.
thanks in advance.
Ed.

do not jsut bore your motor to get horsepower, you wont be gaining anything significant anyways. the point of boring a motor is over time, the cylinder walls wear down, and the piston is no long a tight fit. boring a motor and putting in new pistons or rings trues it up again, claiming back the horsepower lost form the worn down walls. have it rebuilt every 80,000 miles, and oyu can only have it rebuilt 3 times. first time it is bored .030 over, the second time .040 over, and the 3rd time .060 over. once its bored .060 over it cannot be bored any more, and the mor its bored, the quicker it heats up. only bore if you have to.

If you can't spell NITROUS you have no buisness giving out advice about it.
Nitrous if safe to use on a stock engine as long as you do not go overboard and have all the saftey measures in place. Boring you engine .030 will not really give much in the way of hp like Timmy said. On;y bore an engine if the bores are worn or damaged.

if you rebuild it, bore it as little as possible. Race car drivers sometimes bore it over as high as they can but they usually spend too much money on cars that they crash anyways. But if you bore it, then it will be completly rebuilt which will give goood horsepower gains.

it will also take tons of time and close to 1500 or more depending on the parts.

Just finished mine and it took close to 2 months

if you cant spell safety then dont tell us about safety measures and if you cant spell business then butt-out of mine.he can run whatever he wants to,i was just given my opinion.i'm not telling him to bore his motor out,i just made a statement. 0.30 probably want make a big difference, the fact is cubic inches do make horsepower.

Spelling aside your statement about nitrous is not correct. It's your opinion and that fine but it's not good or correct info.

A 100 shot is totaly safe (again assuming you do everything right and don't take short cuts). I have personally sprayed a 150 shot on a bone stock bottom end for over 100 runs with 0 trouble, but I don't reccomend that.

I have to agree with JD. 100HP shot would be just perfect for a bone stock motor set up properly and give you the relaibilty that your looking for as long as you follow the directions to the "T",timing, jetting, etc... Boring the motor will only give you a very little increase in HP that you won't even notice in your "seat-O-Pants dynometer.
