Default A bit more umph and

I bouth a 1983 Camaro with a Jasper rebuilt V6-173 2.8L engine and im wondering what it is that I can do with it to give it a little more pep. Im by no means a car guru and I will probably have no clue on how to do a lot of this but im always up for a learning experience and im wanting this car to end up being really nice. Its in great shape and i want to make it even better.

What would be some simple things that I could do to it to start off with that would help it out. I have tried looking around the net and such but I have had little sucess finding anything as im not really sure what to look for to start with. I know that getting a new exhaust system would help but thats a bit to expensive for me right now as im trying to keep it in the 250$ range to start with untill I learn a bit more.

Im also wanting to know what parts are best, ya i know a performance air filter is good, but what one is better? Im a newb lol so I need a good amount of details and stuff.

Thanks for any help in advance

jasper? i thought those were what the 90's style eagle talon DSM motor?, i never herd of a camaro haveing one, but anyway, is it fuel injected or carb'd?

if its fuel injection you can get a cheap cold air intake that works just as good from e-bay and call it a day, and and gut your cat convert, and either way, buy a high flow muffler and have it put on that should all be around $250

Its not fuel injected, got a standard 2 Barrel Carb. Its also an Automatic 3 speed lol. As far as the Jasper motor goes I believe that its still the original motor that came with the car from the factory but the previous owner had it rebuilt by Jasper motors. I bought the car for 600$ and the only thing I had to fix was a ball joint on the front end.

Dont you have to virtually or totally remove the enjine to put on everything but the Carb? lol, not quite at that level yet although that stuff looks like what I want to be able to do to it when I am able to pull a motor. Not quite skilled enough yet.

Gutted the Cat and got a Flowtech Terminator Muffler so far. Sounds a LOT better now and has maybe a little more pep
