Default Bad News / Good News

Well guys.... This is how is goes...

This moring I went out to start my car to go to school and when the starter engaged it started to turn everything and then it felt like my engine just hit a wall.... I poped the hood and watched it as I tried to start it and when I turn the key everything just shaked... I Think my Engine seized up... I've had starters go out on me before... but it was nothing like this.

Here's the good news!

I've got a new Engine just waiting for me to put her in. I didnt want to do this yet but now I havent got a choice... So I'm gonna attempt to get the old engine out and put the new one in in about 2 days. I hope that while doing this.. everything goes well... I'm gonna have to call in to work a couple days and its a good thing we have friday off because we may need that day too... here goes nothing. Wish me luck!

dont look at this as a bad thing. your 383 should be the mottovating factor. in and out in one day is easy. then spend the next day fine tuning.

well after posting this thread I went back out and tried a couple more times and the car finally started... So I pulled the starter and turns out that it is in good shape... I dont know what it was. Can an engine suddenly unlock after seizing? I just dont know... No 383 yet guys. Maybe another time

I had one of my old Hondas hydrolock on me. Wasn't turning fast enough to damage anything, since I was just cranking it, as you were. Turned out to be a bad cutoff in my carb that allowed fuel to drain into my engine. Pulled the spark plugs and it spewed gas out of two cylinders. Reinstalled the sparkplugs and it ran fine. A few weeks later, same problem. This was when I decided to park the car and swap to EFI.

Anyone need old Honda Accord parts? [8D]

NO, NO, NO. This is a sign, you need to switch out the motor before your light go out then back on for no reason. Soon the wheels will stop turning and the windows will not work. Your car see's the new mil and it wants it. Search your heart, do the right thing. then post some pic's.
