i have a 307ci in a 72 camaro all it has is a edelbrock intake manifold and a carb and performance headers and new exhaust system. my only advise is becareful about how big of a carb you get the previous owners picked the parts and gave it a 500CFM carb this is a little too much for my 307ci and it was set for sea level so i had to re-jet it for the engine and high altitude 500cfm is still too much my next upgrade is going to be a new cam shaft and then after that new heads i would say start with the exhaust system first then exhaust headers you want to be sure you getting enough air/ exhaust to flow also K&N air filter i swear by them put one in and you will see what i mean if you drive your car enough to be in tune with how it normally behaves

Ok cool, I'm running 3" cat-back and have a Flowmaster Super 80. I dont think i wanna do headers till later cuz they are really pricy and i would rather see engine performance first.

the Easies things to do are the way the air flows in and out of a motor and you will see gains from it. if you change the exhaust from the headers all the way back you will notice a nice difference. If you change the intake and port match everything you'll see another noticable gain. the good thing is that everything you buy for the 305 can be put on a 350 later if you decide to change the engine.
