Default 4 bolt main torque down?

working on a 96 lt1 4 bolt main crate motor, anyone know if i need to torque the 4 bolt any different than a 2. i am finding a 77 lb torque spec and thats all i can find for the lt1 2 and 4 bolt mains. the ls has a completely different way of doing the 4 bolt and i am finding info on that but nothing for any lt's. any help out there?

Are you talking about the torque specs, or sequence?

I have a factory service manual for my Vette at home, I can look later and see if it specifies. I wouldn't think the 92 LT1 specs should differ from yours, unless there is some lower end differences I don't know about? But common sense (yeah I know) tells me to do the inners then the outers in steps, since the outer bolts are more or less additional "over and above" the inner bolts.

yah thats what i was thinkin. for the ls1 says to do the inside ones first and it had a different torque for the outside, in the site i found anyways. yes i would appreciate it if u could have a look in your book. in everything ive found it says this block is for a vette for 92 to 96.

Service manual says:
Tighten inboard bolts and studs on four bolt main bearing caps to 106 N•m (78 lb. ft.)
All other bolts to 92 N•m (68 lb. ft.).
I guess now you're gonna have to run out and get yourself a Newton meter torque wrench?

new torque wrench oh i have one that reads both. bummer. lol, thanks a bunch,,, really helped me out. tried to get new bearings but cant get the factory ones like are in it. rear one is .001 over, the rest are .0006 over. have to go with standard which would be a loser fit so im stickin with the factory ones.
