have a new beater project and wondering if i buy a motor/tranny combo if i can drop it in anything? its an 86 s10 pickup. but i bought it for 300 from a guy who had no idea what he was doing. for exaple how bad it is, the battery is sitting on an angled piece of plywood and a cargo strap.lol and underneath found at least 1 bottle of mountain dew underneath the plywood. was afraid to take it out just in case it was say a sub for like a motor mount.haha any ways, if so any ideas of what engine to drop in it? im not gonna go with anything expensive, maybe if i can find a wrecked z28 and pull the 350. thanks

 

You can buy V8 swap kits for S10s on Jegs, it inclues the oil pan, motor mounts, etc.
As for the battery, you can prolly find the battery thing (the word escapes my mind right now) from another junked S10.

 

yea i was going to. i cant believe it made it home the night i bought it. it overheated soon as i got home. the coolant reservoir wasnt even bolted down and empty.haha crazy
