Default 350 SB to a 454 BB

well i posted this over in the 2nd gen v8 tech but got no answers so i thought i'd try my luck over here... i've got a 76 camaro that i plan to put a 454 into but i'm not quite sure what i need to do for motor mounts and i was hoping that some of you guys could help me out... the car has a 350 in it right now but i'm sure i'll still have to swap mounts... is there a car i can pull them out of that will work for me or what do i need to do?

You can find a few sites that offer the engine swap kits. I know DSE (Detroit Speed Engineering) offers them for an LS1 conversion. Maybe start with them.

Don't know for sure on 2nd gen cars but I'd wager it's the same as 1st gen.
All I had to do besides headers on my '69 to bolt in a 427 was change the mounts for the block to big block parts, the frame parts stayed as they were, very easy.
You can likely use 1st gen BB motor mounts but I don't know for sure.
The biggest pita was the heater had to be changed out to a bigblock heater because the hose connections were behind the head after the big engine went in,not sure if that's an issue on a '76 or not.
You will need a different flexplate or flywheel,454's are externally balanced so you can't use your old pieces from the smallblock motor.
You could with a 396-427 though,it's all the same as the small block stuff.
Everything else should bolt up fine but you'll want a bigger radiator to handle the heat from that big motor.
