Paint guys
Hey guys, my car is in need of some new paint. I have done a lot of things to it all myself and i would like to keep that going. I really would like to try my hand at paint. i dont know what color i wanna do. I would like to do black but there is no way as i would be doing the prep myself and obviously it would not be the best of work. Maybe red. i dont know, is there anyone on here that tried it like i want to. someone that has never done it before that could give me some pointers. Or is there any experienced painters that could help me out. Anyone with some pointers for a rookie. i would like to be able to say that its my work lol. anyways thanks in advance.
I have never painted a car myself but i do have a few buddys that do it and i have heard there nightmares about particales getting in the paint and having to redo it so get the air as clean as possiable. Just some info. to help you out when you go to do it

One of the best thing you can do to ensure a good paint job is to take time on the prep work (sanding, body work) If you do the prep work yourself and go to a good place to prime and paint you will save a nice chunk of change. If you do it yourself be sure to do all your painting in a spray booth, even if it is just a mock up spray booth which consists of a plastic lined garage.
Okay i am going to add a question how about if u do the prep work and are gunna spray yourself cause i mean i used some fleet paint last time and it lasted till a detail shop burned the clear coat i had off....what is the best paint to but and easiest color cause mine is black and man its cool but you realy got to be a perfectionist with black

so, this wont work on newer cars?
no lindy because those were on older cars which were all metal, on the 4th gens the only part of the car that is metal is going to be the rear quarter panels and then the rocker panel on the sides of the car, the rest of the car is pretty much fiber glass/plastic
