Default Fuel Pump Relay.

89 RS.

Does the fuel pump relay have and control over the fuel guage ? The kid i got the car from had a bad relay and rather then replace the relay he hooked up a flip switch to turn the pump on and always left it on. so thats #1on my list to fix and the guage always reads just above full.after I fix my ignition cause someone broke into my car lastnight. And yes my car was locked up. but both doors were unlocked when i when out thismorning. But they didn't steal anything else.

yes the answer is pretty late but the answer is no it doesnt have anything to do with you fuel gauge. either the wiring in the tank or the sender in the tank might be bad, or possible the float is stuck.

i just had the same problem and it turned out to be the wiring and the floater.

Most likely, yes. Does it still make noise with a full tank?
