Well those are all nice parts but I think a little over the top for your engine and you are at $1129.85 already with no cam, lifters or timing set.
You have a small valve low compression 2 barrel motor, better heads would be almost a must with those parts as well as a performance cam/lifters and timing set.
Now your getting into a lot of money as heads can be expensive, the package I posted (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-BBC100/) will work well with the motor and heads you have and is a tested proven package for about the price of just the carb you're looking at and the cam, lifters & timing set is included.
Just buy headers and exhaust and an aircleaner and you're done.
You'll get a much better performing engine than what you have now and probably even better gas mileage if you keep your foot out of it.
The parts you are looking at probably won't perform any better even with a good cam without better internals in your motor or at least a better set of heads.
Here's a package you might consider if you want more and have you're heart set on that 650 double pumper.

These are parts the pros have proven to work well together and packaged at a decent price,$1,669.95.

I'd shop around for carbs too, look for sales at local speed shops and search the net,I found that carb and others for less....... http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00029J4GA/...SIN=B00029J4GA

This would do just fine for a lot less, still a 650 double pumper... http://www.atlanticspeed.com/product...7&idcategory=0

Wow, that last package is a great deal, I think that probably would be the way to go. And I can still have my 650 double pumper

And actually part of the reason the 650 I posted was so expensive was because it has the electric choke. But you're right, I'll shop around, I just used the website to show what I was after.

I like a maunal choke but to be honest with a big old double pumper you really don't much even need one lol.
I had the choke wired open on my 750 double pumper atop the 427 in my '69 Camaro and never had any starting or cold idle issues.

I missed this carb with a search on Summits website earlier but looked up the part number in my catalog.
Holley 650 double pumper for $349.75

You have a point there, not to mention I live in sunny California and it rarely drops below 40 degrees during the day

But it would probably be nice to have sometimes so if anything I'd like to have a mechanical choke at the very least. Electronic would just be easier, but doesnt really matter either way.

Thanks for all your help, btw. I think I'm kinda starting to figure out which direction I'm going to go with the engine. I just cant wait until I get going on it.

Oh, one more thing I completely forgot to ask about. What should I do for ignition?

What have you got now? still points fired?
For most applications a good old stock HEI electronic dizzy works just fine and replaces the points fired dizzy in any Chevy first gen small or big block.
There are tons of performance kits for the HEI.... http://www.summitracing.com/search/?keyword=HEI&dds=1

If you don't have an HEI already they're not expensive... http://www.summitracing.com/search/?...tributor&dds=1

Is there any advantage to going with a blueprinted setup? I was just wondering how that makes them cost more.

You'd have to call Summit's tech line on that one,I'm not sure what they mean by that but I'd assume maybe a more performance oriented advance curve etc. for a performance cammed engine.
