Default 94 z28 code pulling

Iwas wondering how i was supposed to pull codes on my camaro. I have a 94 z28 with theobd1 connector. I know Pete told me i need a scanner or take it to a shop somewhere but i dont want to drive this thing anywhere and have it take a dump on me and leave me sitting stupid. I thought it was a fuel problem but it isnt. my testergauge wasntright, the little needle thingy was bent so i bent it back and now i get 40psi primed and about 35 or sowhen running. The testergauge worked the first timeon my wifes truck so i thought it was a fuel problem but it is not.Would the obd1 scanners they have at the parts stores work?? I dont want to spend a ton of money guessing what might be causing the problem so im gonna try to get this code somehow [:@].

P.S. i did search for similar posts for code pulling but i mostly found posts about camaros with obd2 connectors with obd1 computers.

you need a obd 1 computer with a plug connector that on one side has obd1 and the other obd2.

http://www.obd-codes.com/faq/read-gm...codes-free.php

You can do it yourself for free. I think it's even in the Hayne's manual how to do it, along with some codes.

Itried jumping the a and b terminals with a paperclip but all it does is turn the fans on and then nothing. I dont know if there is something wrong with the computer or do i need something special to get the code out with? It is a obd1 connector and a obd1 computer, seems like it would blink the darn codes out. I dont know

Does the light work? Do you have a Check Engine light in? Just curious as your original post said nothing about the light being on.

You cannot flash the codes on 94 and 95 camaros. The 94 can be scanned with an OBD1 scanner, but most code readers will not work. For the 95 car GM got a little weird and you need an OBD1 scanner with a OBD2 style cable or you can make your own adapter. See the FAQ on top of this section.

i just got it today and it works great. Gave me a code 36 baro sensor low.I got it off of ebay for $159 (brand new)that is with shipping. it is a very useful tool, if you work on your own car you need a scan tool.
